Grade 1/2 guide for school closures
Please ensure you have access to Class Dojo, as that will be the main form of communication. If you or your child would like to have a phone conversation, let me know and I would be more than happy to set up a time to chat!
* One of the most important tips I can give for families is to create a daily schedule that works for you and to try to stick to it! Having structure and routine can provide kids with a sense of security knowing what their day will look like. You can even create one together and post it somewhere you or your child can refer back to when needed. To the left is an example.
*Have some “go-to” activities for each block of time. I’ve provided some examples of activities and lessons you can do for different subject areas, but having activities on hand for when you have extra time will definitely help! My students love to use GoNoodle for a “brain/movement break”. They have an option to sign up for an account for families, and it’s totally free.
*Involve your kids in daily household activities/chores. Get your kids involved in activities/chores that need to get done around the house, such as meal planning and cooking, taking care of pets, etc....

I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. It is truly when something such as this occurs, we see how strong we can be and how great we all work together to ensure the safety and well being of our families and students/children.
